Lee Jaram, one of the greatest artists of our time encompassing a wide spectrum of artistic fields including Pansori, indie rock, musical, and theater, leads the original Pansori gala series “Jakchang 2007/2011.” She will create a stage of enormous emotional wave, bringing in excerpts from her Pansori “Sacheon-ga” and “Ukchuk-ga.”“Jakchang 2007/2011” is the gala series of the original Pansori works programmed and performed by Lee Jaram by herself. The word ‘Jakchang’ signifies songwriting in Pansori and it suits well for the show title since Lee will present her own Pansori works in this gala. As the title indicates, the show will stage some of the highlights from “Sacheon-ga” and “Ukchuk-ga” that she premiered in 2007 and 2011 respectively.“Sacheon-ga,” acclaimed paradigm changer of the Pansori creation, and “Ukchuk-ga,” reconfirmation of Lee Jaram’s artistic genius, haven’t been staged since 2014 and 2015.
