Boasting of rich tone colors and sensitive expressions, pianist Lee Seon-young graduated from Sunhwa Arts Middle and High Schools at the top of her class and the Department of Instrumental Music at Seoul National University College of Music with honor. Then she entered Eastman School of Music with a full scholarship for the highest score in performance and earned a Master of Music degree and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree there. While studying in the Eastman, she received the Thelma Rawcliffe Scholarship and the Edith Babcock Scholarship as well as Teaching Assistant Award, Department Assistant Award, and Graduate Award.Having studied with professor Natalya Antonova abroad and professors Paik Hae-sun and Kim Mi-kyung in Korea, Lee served as a teaching assistant at the Academie Internationale Moulin d’Ande in France, the music director at the Faith United Methodist Church in Rochester, USA, a conductor at the First Missionary Methodist Church and an instructor at the Falls View Academy, Sunhwa Arts High School and Kaywon Arts Middle School.
