(줄거리) 구한말 간신인 민겸호 판서(최남현)에 의해 부모를 잃은 안재영(최무룡)은 남장을 하고 신분을 숨기고 있는 이인화(최은희)와 어려서 결혼을 언약한 사이이다. 이들은 대원군이 후원하는 활민 선생의 주도아래 걱정하는 열혈청년들과 함께 민겸호 일당과 싸운다. 그러나 민겸호 일당이 급습하여 활민 선생과 동료들은 목숨을 잃고 재영마저 민겸호와 격투 중에 총에 맞고 인화의 품에 안겨 숨을 거둔다.

(Synopsis) In the latter years of the Korean Empire, An Jae-yeong (Choe Mu-ryong) who had lost his parents to a government official, Min Gyeom-ho (Choe Nam-hyeon), marries Lee In-hwa (Choe Eun-hui), who is in male attire. They fight together with young national activists presided by Hwal-min and supported by Daewongun, the Prince Regent, against Min Gyeom-ho and his peers. But Min and his team perform a surprise attack on Hwal-min and his peers, who die during the fight. Jae-yeong is also shot and dies in In-hwa's arms.
