공연개요
A Geomungo player, a Pansori singer, and a contemporary artist who won the Hermès Foundation Missulsang — all close in age — come together to depict the life of a young man in an unexpected and captivating manner. Park Dawool Park Dawool is an artist who does not confine himself to any particular genre. Starting as a Geomungo player, he has expanded his scope to composing music and producing performances. Recently, he has been creating performances that brand the Geomungo as individual works of art. With a deep internal focus and broad external perspective, he constantly seeks innovative ways to merge different elements for both his artistic expression and personal livelihood. He is a member of the band KARDI, which was formed on JTBC’s ’Superband 2’. Park is set to make his second appearance at Sync Next in 2022, following his initial project ’G-e-o-m-u-n-g-o’.Yu Taepyungyang Yu Taepyungyang, widely known as a prodigy in Korean traditional music, gained national attention at the tender age of six when he performed the entire three-hour and thirty-minute pansori ’Heungboga’. In 2003, he completed another significant pansori, ’Sugungga’, which further drew public and critical acclaim. He trained under the esteemed singers Cho Tongdal and Sung Changsoon. In 2004, Yu took a unique path by moving to South Africa to study percussion. In January 2016, he successfully joined the National Changgeuk Company of Korea after a highly competitive selection process. He has since been active in several productions including the Changgeuk ’L’Orfeo’, ’Trojan Women’, and ’Mr. Heungbo’, as well as the traditional plays ’Nolbo Comes’ and ’Spring Breeze Comes’, and has appeared in various broadcasts.Ryu Sungsil Ryu Sungsil is a Korean artist whose work focuses on various incidents arising from the clash between South Korea’s indigenous characteristics and neoliberalism. She graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Seoul National University and completed her master’s degree in the same department. From 2018 to 2020, she took on the persona of the fictional streamer Cherry Jang to parody the content production methods of online streamers with her work ’CHERRY BOMB’. In 2021, she won the Hermès Foundation Missulsang and held a solo exhibition at Atelier Hermès titled ’The Burning Song of Love’. Additionally, she has participated in several group shows and projects, including ’Transmediale’ (2023, Berlin) and ’Charlottenborg Biennale’ (2023, Denmark).
